TO:                   Parents of Private School Students

RE:                   Textbook Pickup Dates – 2016/2017 School Year

 

Textbooks to be loaned to your child by The Sewanhaka Central High School District for the 2016/2017 school year, under the provisions of the New York State Textbook Law, will be distributed as indicated below:

 

Dates:               Monday, August 15th through Thursday, August 18th, 2016            

                           8:00 AM to 2:30 PM                                                               DISTRICT CLOSED FRIDAYS 

                                                                                                                           FOR THE SUMMER

                        One Evening only: Tuesday, August 16th, 2016

                        8:00 AM to 8:00 PM

 

Location:          H. Frank Carey HS –North Cafeteria

Take Hempstead Tpke. to Goldenrod Avenue (gas station located on NW corner of Goldenrod Ave & Hempstead Tpke.) to the very end. Enter Carey HS parking lot; turn right.  Follow this road around until you see signs for Private School Textbook Area.  Park near the tennis courts.  Enter the building through doors 5A or 5B which open directly into the North Cafeteria.

           

Reminder:         Textbooks are to be picked up by the individual student or by the parents.

Books will only be issued to adults presenting a note from parents authorizing such a pickup for students unable to do so because of vacation, employment, etc. Books will not be issued to other students.

Textbook applications will not be processed or textbooks supplied for the 2016/2017 school year until all indebtedness has been satisfied. Payment for lost books may be made in cash or with a check to the order of the Sewanhaka CHSD c/o Carey H.S., 230 Poppy Avenue, Franklin Square, N.Y. 11010. Mark on envelope Att: District Textbook Center.

 

Note:                Students are required to maintain all texts in good condition. It is recommended that textbooks be covered. TEXTBOOKS ARE NOT TO BE WRITTEN IN (Exception: student’s name on inside cover). Charges for writing and/or damage will apply. At the end of the school year, students are responsible for returning the same texts issued. IF THE SAME TEXTBOOK IS NOT RETURNED, STUDENTS WILL BE CHARGED FOR A LOST TEXTBOOK. ONLY Sewanhaka CHSD textbooks will be accepted.

 

All textbooks must be picked up by August 18th.  Contact Ann Placet at the District Textbook Office @ 516-539-9498 to make arrangements for a pickup after this date. If your son/daughter will not be attending a particular private school in the FALL, please notify our office so those textbooks may be used to process other orders.
