Sewanhaka Central High School District’s Career and Technical Education students had an opportunity to put their knowledge and problem-solving abilities to the test when the Army’s STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) vehicle visited their school.
District officials, Board of Education members and community members gathered for ribbon-cutting ceremonies throughout September to celebrate all five of the Sewanhaka Central High School District’s new athletic fields.
Sewanhaka High School’s Daniel Drucker and Sidney Saint-Hilaire have been named Commended Students in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program.
Floral Park Memorial students Pawan S. Mirchandani and Mahesh Tiwari have been recognized as Commended Students in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program.
The district celebrated 1956 Sewanhaka High School graduate and former New York Jets defensive tackle Paul Rochester in a ceremony that included the presentation of an NFL football to the high school, recognizing Rochester’s Super Bowl III play.
The district is pleased to announce the addition of college-level world language courses for students at H. Frank Carey and New Hyde Park Memorial high schools.
