Sportsmanship Award for Elmont Memorial Athletes

Elmont Memorial was one of six schools in Nassau County to win the New York State Public High School Athletic Association and Time Warner Cable Sports Channel’s "Stay in the Game" Sportsmanship award for the 2015-16 season.
This distinguished award recognizes schools that complete the entire school year without a disqualification penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct by a coach and/or player at all levels of competition.
Elmont Memorial Athletic Director Christopher Agostino expressed his gratitude to the coaches, players, supervisors, and members of the administration, spectators and parents:
Coaches: You are truly great role models for our Elmont student-athletes. Your demeanor and actions set the tone for the team.

Players:  You win and lose with class. This was the message I spoke about at the beginning of each season, and you truly took that message to heart. Elmont’s student-athletes take pride in themselves and their team.

Supervisors: Without you we would not have received this wonderful award. Helping to keep fans out of the "Red Zone" was the objective for each game, and you did it respectfully and effectively.

Administrators: Your attendance at games is invaluable and your support is so appreciated.

Spectators and Parents: Thank you for coming out to cheer on and support Elmont Athletics. It is the community that helps to make all of our successes possible.
Go Spartans!!
