Elmont Celebrates Class of 2017 Valedictorian and Salutatorian

Elmont Memorial is proud to announce Shazor Shahid as valedictorian and Aubin Lohier as salutatorian for the Class of 2017.

Shazor has a weighted GPA of 101.02 and was recently named an Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction. He plans to pursue a career as a computer programmer. In the summer before his junior year, Shazor participated in a two-week network and data education boot camp at Boston University. During his years at Elmont, Shazor has been a valuable member of the Science Research Program, Global Links, SADD, and senior Mathletes, while still maintaining excellent grades in his classes.
Aubin has a weighted GPA of 99.59 and was recently named an AP Scholar with Distinction. His dream is to become an aerospace engineer. Last summer, Aubin worked as a lab volunteer at Rockefeller University, in New York City.  He demonstrates his keen leadership skills as vice president of the Class of 2017, secretary of chamber orchestra, as well as a member of the Science Research Program and National Senior Honor Society.  Over the last few years, Aubin held lead roles in Elmont Memorial’s senior high drama and senior high musicals.
