Accolades for Elmont’s Virtual Enterprise Students

Elmont Memorial’s Virtual Enterprise students enjoyed success in their first major competition and trade show at SUNY Farmingdale on Jan. 13.
The students’ business, Bake My Day placed second in the Top Sales Firm category and for Best Commercial. In addition, they placed third for Best Company Attire.
Virtual Enterprise, which is new to the district this year, is a full-year course taught by business teacher Lorelle Riso and overseen by Chairperson for Business/Technology Education Scott Greene. It allows students to earn nine State University of New York college credits and offers them a competitive edge through collaborative learning and the development of 21st century skills in entrepreneurship, global business, problem-solving, communication, personal finance and technology.
