SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

Dear Parents and Guardians of Students in the Sewanhaka Central High School District:

As you know, the Sewanhaka District is facing a reduction in state aid of over $3 million dollars. This anticipated cut in state aid means that once again very difficult decisions have had to be made regarding what programs and services our District will be able to provide in the upcoming 2010-11 school year.

As you know, this year to date our school district has closed three times as a result of inclement weather. Despite these missed days of instruction, our district calendar provides for the requisite number of instructional days.

Sewanhaka Central High School District parents are reminded that New York State Law requires a written transportation request annually - by April 1 - from parents or guardians of students who plan to attend private or parochial schools within or outside the school district in which they legally reside. Proof of residency in the Sewanhaka Central High School District must be submitted with all new applications.
