H1N1 Letter to Parents

November 17, 2009

Dear Parents and Guardians:

This fall foremost in all of our minds is keeping our children healthy despite the H1N1 flu pandemic. As you know, H1N1 has surfaced throughout our country, state and county. The Center for Disease Control has noted that nearly all influenza is the H1N1 strain.

We are taking our roles as guardians of our students’ health and safety very seriously. I participate in weekly conference calls with our Nassau County Department of Health and am monitoring the number of our district students and staff who report flu-like symptoms.

PRESS RELEASE: Late Bus Service

The Sewanhaka Central High School District is pleased to announce that New York State Senator Craig M. Johnson of the 7th District has secured a grant for the Sewanhaka Central High School District for the purpose of contracting for late bus service.

October Newsletter

At this time I would like to invite you to watch one of our remaining fall athletic contests that will take place in your community. Our students take great pride in their individual performances, as well as that of our teams. In addition, many of the athletic contests held this month will play a large part in determining which of our teams advance to the Nassau County playoffs. We hope you’ll be there to cheer our teams to victory
